North Andover New Restaurants 2026 That Are Gaining Traction

As WHAV reported, for most of the last three years, one address in North Andover has cycled through four different restaurant identities. The first operated for nearly 40 years, followed by two shorter-lived concepts. Now, less than five months after Brando's Part II opened, the restaurant remains open.

A few miles away on Andover Street, another restaurant opening is planned. Tavern in the Square is a multi-location brand, while Brando's Part II is a second location of a Haverhill restaurant; the two developments bring different businesses to North Andover.

Restaurant Changes at 80 Chickering Road

Here is what happened at 80 Chickering Road, in order:

• For nearly 40 years, the building housed Harrison's Roast Beef, a name known across the Merrimack Valley for its sandwiches long before anyone thought to reinvent it.
• Harrison's closed in September 2023. The property sold that same month for $1.21 million to the Jacob/Patrick Realty Trust, with Konstantinos "Dean" Chongris of Boxford named as trustee.
• Chongris reopened the space as Patrick's NorthShore Eatery. The restaurant later changed its menu and format.
• Still under Chongris, the restaurant brought back Harrison's original menu in 2025 and added Town Line Pizza & Seafood alongside it. A new tenant later leased the space.
• Early this year, Chongris leased the space to Billy Griffin and Scott Brandolini, who run Brando's Cutlets in Haverhill. Their North Andover expansion, Brando's Part II, opened April 6, 2026.

The latest arrival at the address is Brando's Part II, a second location of the Haverhill restaurant.

Brando's Part II

As WHAV reported, Brando's Part II brings its Haverhill menu to North Andover: nine chicken sandwiches, eight pasta dinners, soups and salads. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, and Griffin expected the location to employ 10 to 15 people.

Brando's Cutlets traces back to Richard Brandolini, Scott's grandfather, who opened the original in an old Burger Chef location on upper Main Street in Haverhill decades ago. The North Andover menu does not include roast beef, despite the building's long association with Harrison's.

At the same time, Broadway Hospitality Group is opening a new Tavern in the Square in the former Bertucci's space on Andover Street, expected around the end of September. This is an expansion by a restaurant group with multiple locations.

Tavern in the Square is bringing an established concept to North Andover diners. It's a known gathering-place brand with locations already established elsewhere, arriving with its identity fully formed. And the North Andover opening isn't happening in isolation. Broadway Hospitality Group is simultaneously closing its original Burlington location at 100 District Avenue, the chain's first restaurant outside the Boston area, for an extensive interior refresh, with a reopening targeted for late August.

New Openings and Long-Running Local Restaurants

Brando's Part II is an established Haverhill restaurant expanding to North Andover; Tavern in the Square is a multi-location brand with a North Andover location planned.

North Andover also has restaurants that have lasted here for years. Tavern on High, tucked into the historic West Mill, built its identity on straightforward pub food, local craft beer, and a patio that welcomes dogs, not on culinary reinvention. China Blossom has already logged 50 years serving the same style of Chinese buffet it always has. Rolfs Pub on Main Street has held its spot without chasing a trend. None of these places are known for surprising their regulars. They're known for being exactly what they've always been.

What It Means for the Rest of Your Fall

If you live in North Andover, here's the practical version of all this. Brando's Part II has been open for roughly four and a half months. Tavern in the Square will add another dining option as the town's usual fall rhythm kicks in. The North Andover Merchants Association runs its Farmers Market, Restaurant Week, and annual Fall Festival through the season, and this year two new dining rooms will be part of that rotation instead of watching from the sidelines.

The two developments have different timelines: Brando's Part II is open at 80 Chickering Road, while Tavern in the Square is expected on Andover Street around the end of September.
